Image license
Effective 2026-09-01.
Every image and diagram on OilBurnerHelp.com is our own original work, and every one of them is free to reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). That includes commercial use. You do not need to ask first. Credit us, link back, and name the license.
The terms
This is the license statement the site attaches to its images. Each page that shows an image points search engines at this page in its structured data, so the license can appear next to the image in search results.
Original work of OilBurnerHelp.com, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share, and adapt it, including commercially, if you credit OilBurnerHelp.com with a visible link to oilburnerhelp.com and name the CC BY 4.0 license. Full terms at oilburnerhelp.com/license/
The full license is published by Creative Commons: read the plain-language summary or the legal code. If this page and the legal code ever disagree, the legal code wins.
What you can do
- Use it commercially. In a blog post, a training deck, a product listing, a printed manual, a paid course.
- Change it. Crop it, trim it, translate the labels, redraw part of it, combine it with your own material.
- Share it. Copy it, host it, and pass it on, in any medium or format.
The license does not expire, and it cannot be withdrawn from copies already made, as long as you keep to its one condition.
The one condition
Give visible credit to OilBurnerHelp.com with a link to oilburnerhelp.com, and name the CC BY 4.0 license. Put the credit where a reader of your copy will see it: a caption, a credit line under the image, or a credits page in print. If you changed the image, say so. Do not suggest that OilBurnerHelp.com endorses you or your product.
Credit is a condition of the license, not a courtesy. A copy without credit is outside the license, which makes it a copyright infringement. If we find one, we will ask for the credit link.
How to credit
Copy one of these and put it next to the image.
Plain text:
Image: OilBurnerHelp.com (https://oilburnerhelp.com/), CC BY 4.0 HTML:
<a href="https://oilburnerhelp.com/">OilBurnerHelp.com</a>, <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/">CC BY 4.0</a> If you changed the image, add a word for it after the license name, for example "cropped" or "labels translated". Any wording that names OilBurnerHelp.com, links to the site, and names CC BY 4.0 meets the condition. These two are just the shortest way to do it.
No permission needed
You do not have to ask before using an image, and you do not have to tell us afterwards. The license is the permission, and it is the same for everyone, so there is no licensing desk to write to and nothing to wait for. The one thing the license does not cover is use without credit.
Trademarks in the drawings
Some diagrams label parts with manufacturer names and model numbers, such as Beckett, Carlin, Riello, and Wayne. Those names are trademarks of their owners and are not ours to license. The CC BY 4.0 license covers the drawing. It does not cover the marks, and it gives you no right to use them on their own, or to suggest that a manufacturer, or OilBurnerHelp.com, endorses you or your product.
What this covers
Every figure and diagram OilBurnerHelp.com publishes: the cartoon figures in the guides and the redrawn parts diagrams. It covers the images only. The text, the error-code and nozzle databases, and the structure of the site are under the Terms of Use instead, not this license.
